Announcements....
Here is the schedule for the upcoming CERT training to begin on September 12th. If you want to sit in for one of the classes, please let me know ahead of time so that I can ensure we have enough supplies! I don*t anticipate the training to last until 4:00pm as we always try to finish up early! I am already recruiting victims for the October 10th exercise. If you are available, let me know. I will provide more details as we get closer to the exercise.

I will be sending out ballots for board positions so be on the lookout!
We are keeping our eyes on the tropics! If there is a position you are interested in filling prior to hurricane activation, please tell me now! I want you to be where you are most comfortable. I have gotten several FEMA online certifications from several folks and I appreciate your drive to do more! If you have any questions or need any help with the online trainings, please let me know.
Completion of IS 100, 200, 700 and 800
Stay dry and I will see you in a couple of weeks! Next CERT meeting is September 3rd at 6:00 pm.
Until then, Rachel
Great meeting last week! I want to thank Stat Care for coming out and helping us brush up on our medical triage and treatment skills and also working with us on the transition from CERT care to EMS care.
I have only received one nomination since the last meeting! I need your nominations for board members!!!!! This is YOUR team so I need YOUR input on who you want representing YOU! Self-nominations are strongly encouraged and welcomed. Who knows what you are capable of more than YOU! I need those nominations for President, Vice-President and Secretary.
I also need some assistance with the phone tree entries. If you have some extra time and are familiar with Excel, I NEED YOU!
If you have had time to review the Emergency Operations Plan/Standard Operating Procedures and have any input, I need that information as well. I would like to get this finalized by the end of this month!
Have you been watching the weather lately? Hurricane season is really getting geared up!! Be sure to check your disaster supplies, review your evacuation plan, have necessary medications on hand and let me know where you are available to assist. Remember: Pick your location and assignment now before things get crazy! See the attached list for positions available.
If there is a threat of a storm, I will send out a notice requesting your plans to evacuate, if any, and a good contact number so we can keep you informed of CERT activities and also be aware of who is available to assist!
I look forward to hearing from you!
-Rachel

I am working on the Emergency Operations Plan and I was wondering if I might could get some assistance. I need the following information for the local utility companies. I know that realtors and apartments usually have this information. I know that some of the utilities may have the wrong names but I didn*t want to forget any of them! I know each of the cities has their own water/trash service numbers as well. Currently, I am just looking for Jefferson County locale numbers. So here is what I need (Company or Entity Name and their phone number).
